3 Ways Every Believer Can Be Involved In The Great Commission

Image
Great commission  Every person on earth needs to hear the message of Salvation. This message is that Jesus died for their sins, and they are reconciled to God through Christ’s death.  When Jesus was leaving the earth, He left the disciples with one command: Matthew 28: 18-20  And Jesus cam e and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in [ a ] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” This is a mandate of every believer. It was not for the first disciples only, nor was it for people on the pulpit. Every believer is an ambassador of Jesus Christ, as Paul states in 1 Cor 5:18.  Why Share The Gospel?  The Harvest is plentiful.  People are hungry to receive hope and peace. They are searching for it in every aspect. Little do they know that hope is in Christ Jesu

Pursue your Calling

Colossians 4:3-4 “Don’t forget to pray for us, that God will open doors for telling the mystery of Christ, even while I’m locked up in this jail. Pray that every time I open my mouth I’ll be able to make Christ plain as day to them.” Paul’s prayer request to the Colossians shows the Passion he had for his calling. Paul always made it clear in all his epistles that his calling was to share the message of the cross to the  Gentiles.  Even being in chains would not stop him from pursuing his calling.  This is a great lesson to us as saints that when we find our calling, nothing stops us from pursuing it. The passion for fulfilling our calling becomes the purpose we live for. When God created us, He already planned for the purpose he desires us to fulfil. Every person walking on earth has a problem to solve either He believes in God, who created in Him or not.   This means that for us to know our purpose, we must seek it from the Creator. When we pursue our purpose in Christ, we fulfil w

Impact of Technology on the Youth

Image
A Youth Pastor in a youth church service said, “Anyone with a Bible kindly raise up and read this verse for us.” Everyone turned around to see who has a Bible. In a church service of 200 youth s,  no one had a Bible though most of them had Bible apps in their phones. Since the church has banned using phones in the church none of the youth would raise up to read the verse using his phone. This sounds familiar. Technology especially the internet plays a great role in the life of people the youth today. Research by Pew Research Centre  http://assets.pewresearch.org/wp-content/uploads/sites/14/2018/05/31102617/PI_2018.05.31_TeensTech_FINAL.pdf   showed that 95% of the youth have access to the internet either through a computer or smartphone.  90% percent of the youth have access to smartphones. 90% of the youth use Instagram, YouTube, and snap chat  on daily basis . Currently, most youth and teens are using Tiktok.   Research by One Hope  https://www.globalyouthculture.net/united-states/

Seeing Christ through the Book of Psalms.

Image
Psalm 3  This Psalm was written by David when we fled from His son Absalom. Absalom planned to overthrow, and his father had to run from him. Imagine your own son taking your position by force while you are alive. Some of the people who were closer to David also joined Absalom.  But this had been prophesied by Nathan as a punishment to David for committing adultery. David turns to God for help; he cries to Him to save him from his enemies, and who were his enemies? His own son. David says his enemies are so many, and they even say God cannot save Him. But David is assured of God he serves. He calls him my Shield, my Glory, my only hope. David’s trust in God was so confident that not even him being at a threat would not change it. Even knowing he was reaping the consequences of his actions would not change his hope in God.  David ends by saying that he is not afraid; he calls on the Lord, and God will slap his enemies, breaking their teeth. He continues to say salvation comes from

6 Ways Students can utilize their Campus Years

Being a full-time university student has many privileges, one being you have a lot of free time. You have classes on specific days a week with free weekends, and long vacations of up to 4 months, among other privileges. However, you can effectively use this time and come out of university with more than just a certificate for the courses you were studying.  Set goals and timelines  Sit down and create down what you what to achieve in the four years you are on campus.  Your goals should be all round; academic, financially, healthy, spiritual, and relationally. Break down the plans into action points with timelines. If you write down goals without action points may be as equal to not writing them. You have an accountability partner that will keep you on track, maybe your friends or get a mentor. We seem to work hard and best when we know we will need to report to someone on the progress of work.   Enroll in short courses  It is the best time to enroll in a short course, especially in y

Teenage Pregnancy: Building Discipleship for Teenage Mothers Using Seven Connections in Kenyan Church.

Teenage Pregnancy: Building Discipleship for Teenage Mothers Using Seven Connections in Kenyan Church . Teenage pregnancy is becoming a major problem in both developed and developing countries. It is estimated that around 1 million girls under 15 years give birth every year (UNFPA, 2013). In Kenya, according to Kenyan Health Information Management System (KHIS) 152,000 teenage girls got pregnant between March-June 2021 during the Lockdown period, a 40% increase in the country’s  teenage pregnancy average.  This poses a major risk to both the mother and the child. Teenage pregnancy and birth complications have been found to be a major cause of mortality among girls between 15-19 years (UNFPA,  2013). According to Kaye (2008), most pregnant teenagers and teenage mothers are often stigmatized by their parents, partners and the community they reside in. This affects their psychological, mental, spiritual and social life. Research by Plan International showed that 98% of the pregnant girl
