3 Ways Every Believer Can Be Involved In The Great Commission

Image
Great commission  Every person on earth needs to hear the message of Salvation. This message is that Jesus died for their sins, and they are reconciled to God through Christ’s death.  When Jesus was leaving the earth, He left the disciples with one command: Matthew 28: 18-20  And Jesus cam e and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in [ a ] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” This is a mandate of every believer. It was not for the first disciples only, nor was it for people on the pulpit. Every believer is an ambassador of Jesus Christ, as Paul states in 1 Cor 5:18.  Why Share The Gospel?  The Harvest is plentiful.  People are hungry to receive hope and peace. They are searching for it in every aspect. Little do they know that hope is in Christ Jesu

3 Basic Financial Principles From The Bible

God's Provision. Photo by Lagos Food Bank Initiative

I have struggled to meet daily needs. I have seen my parents struggle to give us basic needs. Yet we are believers. We have prayed for financial needs as a family. Sometimes we get answers to our prayers. Sometimes not.

I also have encountered believers struggling with getting their basic needs.   This made me start questioning if God cares for our financial needs.

In my search to understand God's provisions, I have learned 3 financial principles from God. Journey with me as we look at the 3 principles.

God Cares

God cares for the needs of humans. Spiritually, mentally and physically needs. Physical needs include our provision and finances. Remember, He is our Father, and one of the fatherly characters is the "father is a provider." Some examples prove that:

  • From the beginning, God gave man land with all he needed. It had water, plants, and animals. God provided for man. He wanted men to be comfortable. (Genesis 1 and 2).

  • Even after the fall, God covered man's nakedness. This is also proof that God cares for our physical needs. Despite man messing, He still provided for Him.

  • When God called Abraham from the land of Ur, He promised to give the land. And he journeyed through to Canaan God showed him land.

  • God made Isaac have a bumper harvest amid a drought. Indeed God is a provider.

  • He provided for the prophet Elijah when He was going through a tough time in his life.

There are uncountable stories about God meeting the financial needs of people throughout the Bible.

You and I cannot go on to claim that God is not concerned about our needs. He does even today.

3 Financial Principles

  1. God has already provided.

In the Garden of Eden, we see that all man's needs God provided before his creation. The man received what God has provided. Man was required to follow God's command to receive it. The land was blessed to provide man's food.

Genesis 1: 28, "And God blessed them. And God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth."

Though the land was cursed after the fall of man, God has continued to care for man's welfare. He clothed man after the fall. He was still concerned about man's well-being.

Genesis 3:21, "And the Lord God made for Adam and for his wife garments of skins and clothed them."

The land that Abraham and his descendants were to inherit was already available (Genesis 12)

God's provision is ready. It's upon me to allow him to show it to me. After God is not creating any world, at least not now, he gave us dominion over the earth. Meaning our needs are on earth.

God is in the work of opening our eyes to show wealth creation opportunities around us. He made us co-creators in the Graden of Eden. He desires that we keep discovering and creating new chances from what He has created.

  1. What do I have?

When Jesus fed the 5000 people, He used what the Disciples had. They answered they had two fish and 5loaves of bread. To the Disciples, that wasn't enough, but to Jesus, that was more than enough.

Matthew 14:17, "They said to him, "We have only five loaves here and two fish."

Sometimes we think what we have is not enough. We have sleepless nights thinking about how we can get some more. We need to sit at the feet of Jesus and learn how to multiply what is in our hands. Financial Coach Roy Okonji says there is no small money; your belief makes money small or big.

We have to learn the multiplication principle. Multiplication is part of what God created us to do.

  1. Learn to budget and save.

Budgeting and saving are Biblical principles. In the book of Genesis, God taught Joseph how to budget and save during the seven years of a bountiful harvest.

Genesis 41: 35-36, "And let them gather all the food of these good years that are coming and store up grain under the authority of Pharaoh for food in the cities, and let them keep it. That food shall be a reserve for the land against the seven years of famine that are to occur in the land of Egypt, so that the land may not perish through the famine."

God knows we won't be able to produce and harvest all seasons. He desires that we learn to save and invest during our productive period. We have heard about this principle for a long time, and we always think it's secular. It is a Biblical principle.

God gave laid out financial principles that we ought to follow as we trust in Him to provide. We can't ignore them. We must take to study them and follow them. We believers can avoid financial stress by following Godly wealth creation principles. What have you learned?
