3 Ways Every Believer Can Be Involved In The Great Commission

Great commission  Every person on earth needs to hear the message of Salvation. This message is that Jesus died for their sins, and they are reconciled to God through Christ’s death.  When Jesus was leaving the earth, He left the disciples with one command: Matthew 28: 18-20  And Jesus cam e and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in [ a ] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” This is a mandate of every believer. It was not for the first disciples only, nor was it for people on the pulpit. Every believer is an ambassador of Jesus Christ, as Paul states in 1 Cor 5:18.  Why Share The Gospel?  The Harvest is plentiful.  People are hungry to receive hope and peace. They are searching for it in every aspect. Little do they know that hope is in Christ Jesu

5 Reasons You Should Have Devotion.

Despite being a Christian for years, I have sometimes lagged in my devotions. This is usually caused by being too busy,  traveling, failure to schedule time, and procrastination. Are you like me? Feel tagged here.

But you know what, we must treat our devotion time with the urgency it needs. When we understand the need or urgency of having personal devotion, we will learn to focus on it in our schedules. We will ensure we do not miss it no matter how crazy our day is or where we are. It'sshouldn'tHere are the reasons why we need devotion.

1. It is a spiritual exercise.

In life, when you want to be the best in something, you must practice. You must invest your time and other resources in it. No athlete wakes up in the morning and enrolls for a race without practicing. An athlete commits himself to exercise and denies himself some privileges to be fit the race ahead of him.

Therefore, you as a believer must invest in your spiritual life by reading the Word, meditating on the Word, and praying. We are in a Spiritual battle, and we can't win if we do not prepare our spiritual muscles. In 1 Corinthians 9:27, Paul says that he disciplines his body and brings it to subjection to remain qualified. As a believer, are you disciplining yourself to stay qualified?

2. Grow your relationship with God.

We grow fond of the person we spend the most time with. God calls us His sons, and He loves us Romans 8:14-16. For instance, when you love someone or know someone loves you, you always want to hear from Him from time to time. You being in love with God, you must spend time with Him to know Him more.

3. It is a form of worship.

Devotion time is a form of worship of God. We do not only worship during corporate time but also alone. During devotion, you give thanks to God and praise Him for who He is in your life, and make your petitions to Him. We show our loyalty to God by worshipping Him.

4. It gives you a better understanding of what you believe in

The more you dedicate your time to studying the Bible, the more you understand it.  In this time, there are many questions raised on faith and our belief in God. You have built an understanding of what, who, and why you believe in.  In 1 Peter 3:15, we are called to defend the reason for our hope. You can't defend what you don't know.  You must have a zeal for the Gospel, for you stand up for it.

5. Protects you from false Gospel

There is a rising number of false prophets and the Gospel. Jesus promised us that will happen in the last days; Mat 24:11. You don't need to worry about the false prophets.  Your worry should be on your inability to differentiate between the Truth and a lie. Jesus said these prophets would deceive many. How can you escape from being deceived? By devoting yourself to know the Truth. It's only the Truth that you know that sets you free.

In conclusion, having known why you need to have devotion, I pray that you commit yourself to it. You will have the zeal to do it. May you have
